CCTV's program Economic Half Hour Features Baili Tianheng's New Practices in Going Global

2026-08-06
On the evening of August 4, 2026, CCTV's Economic Half Hour aired a special report on innovative drugs. The program focused on the rise of China's innovative pharmaceutical industry and its expansion into global markets.

As a standout industry representative, Baili Tianheng shared its practical experience, detailing the R&D journey of iza-bren, the world's first approved bispecific antibody-drug conjugate (bispecific ADC), as well as its innovative mode for international cooperation

The Economic Half Hour mentioned that, in June this year, the world's first bispecific ADC was approved for marketing. The program not only analyzed the innovative pharmacological mechanism of bispecific ADCs in tumor treatment, but also specifically noted that iza-bren adopted a "co-development and revenue-sharing" approach rather than the traditional buyout mode during its global expansion process.

Zhuo Shi, Vice President of Baili Tianheng and General Manager of DOTBIO, stated in his CCTV interview, "Our goal is to develop drugs delivering transformative clinical efficacy. Over 12 years, we have steadily built a world-class proprietary innovative drug platform, which serves as the foundation for advancing a broad pipeline of breakthrough therapies.”

In June and July 2026, iza-bren (Yizekang®), the EGFR×HER3 bispecific ADC independently developed by Baili Tianheng, was successively approved for two indications, namely nasopharyngeal carcinoma and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, ushering in a new era of bispecific ADC treatment for tumors. As of June 2026, Baili Tianheng and its partner Bristol Myers Squibb have launched more than 40 clinical trials of iza-bren across China and the United States, covering multiple tumor types.

China’s novel pharmaceutical industry has evolved from isolated overseas sales cases to systematic global expansion: its business model has shifted from finished drug exports to technology licensing, transforming the country from a mere product supplier into a full-fledged global collaborative partner. Armed with competitive Chinese pricing, rigorous Chinese quality standards and proven Chinese clinical efficacy, homegrown innovative drugs are opening doors to worldwide markets.
